What is Silk Satin?
Satin refers to the weave structure rather than the fibre – and when that structure is applied to pure silk, the result is exceptional. The satin weave allows more silk threads to sit on the surface of the fabric, creating its signature high sheen and smooth finish. The reverse side has a more matte appearance, offering two distinct looks in one fabric. Genuine silk satin has a natural weight and liquidity that synthetic alternatives simply cannot replicate.

Silk satin’s fluid nature makes it ideal for draped and bias-cut designs. Its smooth surface benefits from careful handling to maintain its finish and achieve clean, elegant results. Steam pressing and dry clean or hand wash is recommended.
